I'm very excited about this
breeding, hope to get some gorgeous blacks and a few gorgeous yellows
(statistically 25% since both black parents carry the yellow recessive).
Able is a beautiful dog bred by Kevin Henry and has produced some lovely puppies
while spending 18 months in Finland with the Mallorn people; now is standing at
stud at Saddlehill, producing some of his first offspring in the US.
His littermate brother "Cain" has been a very good producer and his
littermate "Gracie" may be one of the nicest bitches around these
days! Morgan was the pick of her litter, a Hooper daughter, Dillon
granddaughter, out of my lovely Emma (Bleu daughter). She has strong
working/hunting ability on both sides of her pedigree including 2 Master Hunt
titles on her daddy. Morgan has a fantastic nose, is very birdy and a natural
tracker. She has a littermate brother with his Senior Hunt title in Oregon
and
half-sister with her Junior Hunt title in Texas. Able has 2 specialty Winner Dogs
for both majors, will finish soon. Morgan is champion pointed with very
limited showing and made me proud by winning a very nice Open Black specialty
class at Winnebago last year. She will continue her show career after this
litter.

UPDATE:
At 2:02 AM
on Morgan's due date of May 15, she delivered her first puppy. After that,
it was fast and furious for a while; she whelped 5 puppies in 1 hour 15
minutes! Then 2 more after a little rest. It was a wonderful
whelping, easy deliveries, strong, healthy puppies, didn't lose any, didn't even
have to work to SAVE any! We have 3 black males (yeah!), 2 black females
and 2 yellow males. Morgan's a wonderful mama and she and puppies are
doing well, good weight gains at 24 hours and pigment on the yellows should be
outstanding as they're already starting to turn "gray". I'll
continue to post pictures as the puppies develop.
