I'm excited at the prospect of having some chocolate puppies again but, black or chocolate, these should be some lovely puppies with potential for show prospects, field work, obedience, agility and wonderful family companions. I expect very typy but athletic puppies, high intelligence and strong working instincts, good angulation front and rear, excellent coat, topline & tailsets.
Coffee is a beautiful young dog with wonderful bone, coat, type and temperament ... and the beginnings of an impressive show career with his Canadian Championship, multiple group wins and specialty placements. His pedigree goes back to some of the most impressive chocolate producers in recent history ... BISS Ch. Borador Willcare Master Copy, WC ("DJ"), Ch. Willcare's Masterpiece, CD, JH, WC and Am, Can. Ch. Boothgate Chief Producer. Lydia is a nice young bitch with exceptional coat, good angles, type and a fun, exuberant personality. Very smart, cooperative, quick learner ... and the courage to take off swimming and retrieving with two older dogs at 8 weeks of age! I've often referred to Lydia as "my rocket scientist"! A daughter of my beloved Major (from his last litter), she should produce extremely dark coat and eyes in the chocolate pups. Both her mama and daddy go back multiple times to the legendary BISS Amer, Can, Mex, 1978 World & Int'l Ch. Franklin's Golden Mandigo, CD, WCX, so we should have some true dual-purpose puppies.

UPDATE:
Lydia whelped 9 puppies June 4 ... all strong and healthy. Unfortunately, two puppies faded and died within 4 days (Turquoise & Yellow girls), leaving us with 3 chocolate males, 1 black male, 1 chocolate female and 2 black females. All remaining seven, and mama, are doing fine. Lovely puppies with good substance, nice heads, great tails at 12 days!
